The Em5b is designed as a convenient, low-cost data collection system. The Em5b is a 5-channel, self-contained data recorder.
It is housed in a white UV-proof enclosure which makes it suitable for general outdoor measurements, but is not suitable for more extreme environments. It uses 4 AAA-size alkaline batteries, which should last 5-6 months, and has (49K) of Flash Data memory (145 days at 1 scan/hour)
The Em5b will connect to the standard ECHO probes (EC-5, EC-10, and EC-20). The Em5b comes with a basic software utility program for setting up and downloading data from the Em5b to the computer. The Em5b does not come with a radio option.
